Autumn Britten is very prolific and is one of the earliest fall bearing raspberry varieties. Berries ripen in mid-July, right on the heels of summer bearing raspberries. The berries are large, the sweet fruit is firm yet juicy, and the canes are upright and vigorous. About half of the fall crop will ripen over a month, with the remaining half coming ripe from August through October, ripens 3-4 weeks earlier than Heritage. Autumn Britten is disease resistant and should have a low trellis, the canes are sturdy, but they can bow under the weight of the berries. Self-pollinating..
