Do not purchase this if you cannot make arrangements for professional installation. Item Details This diesel engine has been inspected and tested by a certified technician. The donor vehicle was mechanically stock and running well. The engine long block assembly has been tested at full operating temperature. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully. Inspection Details 156k miles. this is a great running engine with no issues. see the full description and video. Important fitment information This engine is for an E70 xDrive35 or 35dX model. It has an AWD oil pan. It can be converted for use in an E90. Engine Inspection This M57 is in very good condition. The engine is in long block form, and includes only what is photographed. There are no leaks. The valve cover and oil pan are also in great shape. It was removed from a clean, well maintained X5 xDrive35d that was running well with no issues or errors upon arrival. The engine meets factory specifications for compression. It was tested dry and wet after a full warm-up, to ASE standards. From BMW: "Compression pressure of all cylinders roughly same value: bar >16". All cylinders measured greater than 16 Bar (232 PSI). A cylinder leak down test was also performed in accordance with ASE standards, and passed. This should be a great candidate for a drop-in replacement, or a perfect foundation for a new build. At this mileage, we would recommend you consider replacing all consumables. Preventative measures like bearing replacement, and a timing chain are also recommended. The high-pressure fuel pump is not included with the engine. There is currently a removal/installation tool in place that must not be removed prior to installing a fuel pump. The engine has been sealed, and will be fully encased prior to shipment. It is stored indoors. DisclaimersPre-owned Engine Disclaimer This engine long block assembly is used and should be properly serviced and prepared by an ASE or BMW certified facility prior to installation. To ensure maximum warranty coverage and optimal performance, consumable items such as seals, gaskets, hardware, and other wear components should be replaced or refurbished beforehand. For example, this includes visibly leaking gaskets, cooling hoses, crankcase ventilation components, valve stem seals, brittle plastics, engine bearings, water pumps, and more. Returns This diesel engine can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Unless other arrangements have been approved, this diesel engine must be returned using the same delivery service, in the same condition, and packed as originally received. If this diesel engine has been installed, modified, or tampered with, it is no longer eligible for a return under this policy. See warranty details below for coverage after installation. You are responsible to carefully review the photos. No returns will be accepted for cosmetic defects that are clearly photographed. Warranty This diesel engine is guaranteed to be free of major defects for 30 days after delivery. Warranty returns and exchanges are processed individually, at our discretion. If this diesel engine has been installed, supporting documentation for the warranty return or exchange is required. At a minimum, supporting documentation should include records of proper installation and procedures performed by an ASE or BMW certified facility, along with clear documentation of the failure mode. This long block coverage applies to major components only: engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, pistons and connecting rods, oil pump, camshafts, and valve train. All additional engine accessories and trims are considered extras and are not covered by any return or warranty policy. Extras may include turbochargers, manifolds, fuel pumps, injectors, belt-driven components, electronic modules, wiring harnesses, sensors, solenoids, actuators, cooling system components, engine mounts, and more. These items are included as-is. Known issues inherent to this diesel engine may not be covered. Refunds and exchanges apply exclusively to this diesel engine only. No compensation will be provided for any additional expenses incurred. These uncovered costs include labor, rental cars, additional parts, fluids, materials, tools, and similar items.
